About The Event
Date – 10th & 11th August 2023




Kalinga University hosted the first-ever 24-hour KU Hackathon 2023 successfully at its campus. The event featured 20 teams from five different states. The faculty of Information Technology and the Department of Computer Science organized the KU Hackathon-2023. The event lasted two days 10 and 11 August 2023.
It was a single-night sprint where students came together to build/learn something that they believe will make them successful / recognized.
Dr. S K Singhai, Additional Director of the Directorate of Technical Education, was the Chief Guest at the Kalinga University Auditorium for the launch of the KU Hackathon-2023 and received a warm welcome. Dr. Singhai said other educational institutions should follow the tradition and organize such events. Dr. J.S. Bal, Joint Director of Directorate of Technical Education was the guest of honour.
Dr. R. Udaya Kumar, Dean of Computer Science & Information Technology and programme convener, gave a welcoming address. Kalinga University’s Vice Chancellor Dr. R. Shridhar, Director General Dr. Byju John and Registrar Dr. Sandeep Gandhi addressed the event with their meaningful and inspired speeches. The event focused on ideas based on the themes of Smart Automation, Smart City, and Green Technology.
After the formal inauguration of the ceremony mementos were distributed to the distinguished guest and a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Asha Ambhaikar, Co-convener and Professor, Computer Science and IT department. Co-convener of the program was Mr. O P Dewangan.
Participants for Green Technology domain were Ms. Varsha Dewangan, Ms. Preeti Sahani, Ms. Sweta Singh and Mr. Deepak Dhruw from Kalinga University. Participants for Smart City were Mr. Dheeraj Reddy of CMR College of Engineering and Technology, Mr. P Vaibhav of RCET Bhilai, Srijan Rajput of Kalinga University, Mr. Nalini Ajwani of Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg , Mr. Aditya Raj of Kalinga University, Mr. Goranchal Sharma of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, Mr. Ankush Kumar of Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus, Mr. Aman from Darbhanga College of Engineering and Mr. Pulkit Sahu of KK Modi University.
Participants for Smart Automation were Mr. Hritik Pandey of GIDC Degree Engineering College, Mr. Amanuwell Lakra of Kalinga University, Mr. Mamidi Ashish Kumar of St Peters Engineering College, Mr. Premnath of Kalasalingam University, Mr. Jeevan Vaishnav of Kalinga University and Mr. Sammuel Lawrence of Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Science.
Coordinators of the program were – Mr. Kamlesh Kumar Yadav, Ms. Akanksha Mishra, whereas the Committee members were Ms. Taruna Chopra, Mr. Proshanta Sarkar, Mr. Pawan Kumar, Ms. Divya, Ms. Swati Tiwari, Ms. Anupa Sinha, Ms. Nikita Pathrotkar, Ms. Shilpi Choubey, Ms. Kirti Nahak, Ms. Sushree Sasmita Dash and Mr. Akash Pandey. The master of the ceremony was Ms Taruna Chopra.
The Valedictory ceremony Chief Guest for the program was Dr. AK Tiwari, Principal of Disha College. Judges were Dr. Rekh Ram Janghel, Associate Professor and Head of Department of Information Technology, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur and Mrs. Anamika Jain, Assistant Programmer, Chhattisgarh Environmental Conservation Board, Raipur. Dr. AK Tiwari addressed students to have belief in themselves and that they should work with pleasure and commitment to achieve success in life. Dr. Rekh Ram Janghel addressed students saying that they should believe and stay motivated to study hard in order to achieve success in life.
Students shared their feedback and appreciated the arrangement made for the event. At the end of the event, winners were awarded with cash pizes. The runners-up of Green Technology was Team Hightech from Kalinga University, Ms. Preeti Sahani and Mr. Athulya K S. The winner of Smart City theme was Mr. Hritik Pandey from GDEC Elites-GIDC Degree Engineering College Gujarat whereas the runners-up were Ms. Nalini Ajwani and Mr. Raja Singh of BIT Durg. Winners of Smart Automation were Mr. Kushal Jain and Mr. Rahul Paswan of Tech Vigilantes, Kalinga University while the runners-up were Mr. Mamidi Ashish Kumar and Mr. Preetham Rajnesh of St. Peters Engineering College, Hyderabad. The winners runners-up teams and received cheques of Rs 10000 and Rs 5000 respectively.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. OP Dewangan. Silver sponsor for the event was M/s MKS Vision and Bronze sponsors were M/s Vyoog Information, M/s Deep Dive IT Solutions and M/s RK Tech Solutions.
