Workshop on Making Household Sanitizers and Disinfectants at Kalinga University
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Kalinga University proudly organized a comprehensive two-day workshop on “Preparation of Household Sanitizers and Disinfectants” on October 4th and 5th, 2023. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sandip Prasad Tiwari, Principal, Faculty of Pharmacy, aimed to educate and empower participants on essential aspects of hygiene and product formulation.
The workshop was launched with much zeal. Dr. R Shridhar, Vice Chancellor of Kalinga University, was the honourable chief guest. During the inaugural session, the Faculty of Pharmacy – Mr. Satish Siripini and Mr. Pranjul Shrivastava shared valuable insights on the significance of hygiene and the intricacies of product formulation.
The hands-on technical workshops delivered by experienced faculty members were the main highlight of the event. These illuminating workshops were delivered by the Faculty of Pharmacy – Mr. Pranjul Shrivastava, Mr. Saurabh Sharma, Dr. Semonti Nandi, and Ms. Jayshri Swarnkar, who provided participants with practical information and skills.
Participants learned how to make medicated soaps, handwashes, paper soaps, and white phenyl. During the closing ceremony, each of the finished goods were elegantly labelled and displayed for the guests. More than 250 enthusiastic participants registered for this session. The workshop was attended by students from D. Pharm, B. Pharm, M. Pharm, and Pharm D along with the faculty members of Kalinga University.
The dedicated organizing committee, consisting of Mrs. Rajni Yadav, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Mishra, Mr. Satish Siripini, Mr. Sudeep Mandal, and Mr. Sharang Bali, worked diligently to ensure the smooth execution of the event.
The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony to the participants. Dr. R Shridhar, Vice Chancellor of Kalinga University encouraged students to use this learning experience which can help them in the future to start their own ventures. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Semonti Nandi.
