Kalinga University celebrated Hindi Diwas

Various cultural programs and competitions were organized to celebrate “Hindi Diwas” under the aegis of the Department of Hindi under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Kalinga University. More than 35 students showcased their cultural talent in this competition.
The function was inaugurated by lighting the lamp and garlanding the Statue of Maa Saraswati and the classical Hindi litterateurs. Under the folk dance competition, students performed traditional and classical folk dances of different states and mesmerized the audience. The performance of the main folk dance of the state of Maharashtra, the Rajasthani folk dance, the Sastrita dance based on the Mahabharata, the Garba folk dance, the Kathak performance under classical dance, the Sambalpuri folk dance of Orissa was the center of the attraction.
A short drama Anarkali, based on the story of legendary writer Saadat Hasan Manto, under the direction of Dr. Vinita Dewan of the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Department of English, was one of the attraction of the day.
Ms. Juhi, Advocate in the Training and Placement Department, presented the Hindi Bole song, in which the engineering department performed spectacularly with songs, music and acting.
“Tulsidas” a humorous poem was presented by Asst. Professor Dr. Abhishek Agrawal and the audience were enthralled to hear the songs sung by Ms. Kanak. Advocate Juhi enthralled the audience with her song performance.
After the competition, the best three participants of the quiz competition, poster competition, quiz competition, best three students of Riddle competition and best nine participants in the folk dance competition were awarded trophies and certificates to all the
students who played the role of noted storyteller Manto.
The stage was well managed by Ms. Latika Chandra and Mr. Mukesh Nayak of B.A. 5th Sem, Ms. Tista Khunte and Mr. B. K. Siddharth Tikariya of Bachelor of Journalism Mass Communication (BJMC) III Sem and Ms Khushboo Shaw of BJMC 5th Sem.
Ms. Jyoti Shah, a student of Commerce and Management and her colleagues completed the responsibilities of welcome, platform decoration and awarding the prizes. Mr. Daulat Sahu of the IT Department took charge of the technical management which went smoothly. Md. Yunus Khan and his team performed the photography and video. Dr. Sandeep Prasad Tiwari, Principal, Faculty of Pharmacy, Kalinga University, Dr. Shilpi Shrivastava and Dr. Sushma Dubey, Dean, Faculty of Science were present as judges of the competition.
In the end, Dr. Ajay Shukla, HoD of Hindi Department spoke on the importance and achievements of this event. Dean, Faculty of Art and Humanities Dr. Shilpi Bhattacharya announced the end of the programme. On the occasion, Dr. A. Vijay Anand – the Chief Proctor, Dr. Papadi Mukhopadhyay, Dr. Shraddha Hirkane, Dr. Vafi Ahmad Khan, Dr. Archana Nagvanshi, Dr. Aakriti Devangan, Ms. Tuhina Chaubey, Ms. Geetika Brahmabhatta, Ms. L. Jayoti Reddy, Ms. Mirti Jagadalla, Ms. Jessick Minj, and Mr. Ashish Kumar Samal along with students and staff were present.
