Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Kalinga University in collaboration with NABARD organized 2-day National Seminar on “Strengthening Women Entrepreneurship for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”. Inauguration of the ceremony took place at Kalinga University Auditorium in presence of eminent guests including Padma Shri Phoolbasan Bai Yadav, Indian Social Worker and Founder of the Maa Bamleshwari Janhitkari Samiti as chief guest.
Dr Umesh Kumar Mishra, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Private Universities Regulatory Commission conveyed his message for the seminar as Guest of honour in absentia. Special Guest was Dr Gyanendra Mani, Chief General Manager of NABARD. And Professor Dr Dinesh Marothia, President of Indian Society of Agricultural Economics, and Member of Technical Advisory Board of South Asia graced the occasion with their presence.
Inaugural ceremony began with Saraswati Vandana in presence of Vice Chancellor of Kalinga University Dr R Shridhar, Registrar Dr Sandeep Gandhi, Dean of Students Welfare Dr Jashmine Joshi, Dean of Academic Affairs Dr Rahul Mishra. Vice Chancellor Dr R Shridhar extended the welcome note. Dr Dinesh Marothia shared his views during the national seminar stating the importance and need of women entrepreneurship. Dr Gyanendra Mani stated the objectives of NABARD. Padma Shri Phoolbasan Bai Yadav gave a thought-provoking speech that was indeed an inspiration for all women entrepreneurs. Large number of members of different self-help groups and entrepreneurs from Kurud were present along with faculties and students of various universities across India.
Mementos were presented to the guest speakers and vote of thanks was proposed by Advocate Juhi Marothia. Master of the ceremony was Ms Geetika Bramhbhatt, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Nine technical sessions were carried out in which Dr P Indira Devi from ICAR Emeritus Professor of Kerala Agricultural University presented her view. Other guest speakers were Dr Sunil Nahatkar, Professor and Head of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management & Honorary Director, Ms Dhaneshwari Mandavi, Director of Maa Bamleshwari Janhitkari Samiti, Ms Khileshwari Sahu, Head of Krishi Kendra Division of Maa Bamleshwari Janhitkari Samiti, Dr S R K Singh, Director of ICAR-ATARI, Dr S K Risam, Former Vice-Chancellor and Director of Sher-E-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences of Jammu, Dr SS Kalamkar, Director and Professor of Agro-Economic Research Centre, Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, Dr Rajiv Mohanty, Department of Agriculture Chhattisgarh and Dr Sanjay Kumar Joshi, Assistant Professor, Department of Agri-Business and Rural Management College of Agriculture. Ten more technical sessions took place on the second day of the National Seminar on Saturday.
