About The Event

Dr. V.K. Baranwal, National Professor, Division of Plant Pathology in Indian Agricultural Research Institute-ICAR visited Kalinga University on 04-Nov-2023. Dr. Baranwal has a high proficiency in the area of Plant Virology: Genomics, Diagnostics and Management.
The discussion was initiated by Dr. Sandeep Gandhi, Registrar, Kalinga University with the introduction of Dr. Baranwal with the team and his specialization in work and achievements.
After a brief discussion with Dean of Science Dr R. Jayakumar and HoD of Biotechnology Dr. Sushma Dubey regarding various research work, he shared his vast experience and knowledge on the current scenarios and advancement of Biotechnology, specifically in the area of virus infection in plants and animals and their treatment options.
The main highlight of the talk was about new research on molecular biology advancement with which the time period of the whole process for genetic amplification can be reduced at a great level which can save not only time but can also increase the efficiency of the process. In addition to that, with the new technique, the process does not have requirement of certain conditions, like temperature, which were crucial during conventional technique. These techniques can be a great help for human disease diagnosis in a very short period of time. The discussions were attended by faculty members and research scholars.
Dr. Sandeep Gandhi, Registrar, Kalinga University concluded the discussion with vote of thanks to Dr. Baranwal. A momento was presented to the guest as a token of gratitude by Dr. R. Jayakumar, Dean of Science and Dr. Sushma Dubey, HoD of Biotechnology on behalf of the University.
