Students and faculty of Kalinga University participated in the ‘Walk a Cause’ event.
RAIPUR, 3 April
Enthusiastic students and faculties of Kalinga University took part in the ‘Walk a Cause’ event organized by District Police Raipur to create awareness about zero tolerance crime against women on Sunday, 2nd April,2023 The event included a 3 kilometer walk that started at 7:30 am from Marine Drive up to Ghadi Chowk and back. The Vision of the event was to ‘Empower a woman to empower the next generation, educate a women to educate next generation.’
Chairperson of the Women’s Commission, Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak was the Chief Guest during the program. The event Walk a Cause was an initiative taken by the district police with an aim to unite women from different sections of society and create awareness about zero tolerance for crime against women. Walk a cause highlighted the spirit and social light of women in order to applaud their Domination and success in every sphere of education service , and business, etc Participants performed the Jumba dance to the tune of music with RJ from My FM.
Large numbers of young enthusiasts took part in the walk which started from Marine Drive and was flagged off by Dr.Kiranmayi Nayak in the presence of Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Prashant Agrawal I.P.S. and other police officials. Three kilometer walk was performed by the participants starting from Marine Drive passing through Nagar Ghadi Chowk, and caming back to Marine Drive to create awareness on crime against women. Women police personnel, different sports persons, professionals, and citizens took part in the event for the good cause.
Under the guidance of Dr Sandeep Gandhi, Registrar, and Mrs. Jasmine Joshi, Dean Students Welfare (DSW) of Kalinga University, students took part in the event. They were accompanied by faculties Dr. Smita Premanand, NSS Program Officer and Head of the Department of Fashion Designing, Mr. Sheikh Abdul Kadir, Deputy Dean Students Welfare, and Assistant Professor in the department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Ms Preeti Manhar, Indus Girls Hostel Warden, Mr Rajkumar Das, Young Indian Coordinator and Assistant Professor in Journalism and Mass Communication department were present.
On behalf of the organizers of the event, SSP Prashant Agrawal presented a memento, which was received by Mrs. Jasmine Joshi and Dr. Smita Premanand.
