Kalinga University Students attend State Level Awareness Program

Students of Kalinga University took part in the state level awareness program for women on physical exploitation at work place, Human trafficking, safety to be observed at crime scene, working of family court and cyber crime related issues. Hon’ble Chief Minister- Shri Bhupesh Baghel was the chief guest. On this occasion he inaugurated a departmental magazine and launched an app developed by the Department of Chhattisgarh State Women Commission.

The event took place at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium on Sunday. Faculties of Forensic department of Kalinga University presented a demonstration before Chief Minister in which fine details on how to take care of minute details while collecting evidence from crime scene was explained. Collection of finger print and writing with secret ink was demonstrated at the stall in auditorium.

Hon’ble Chief Minister- Shri Bhupesh Baghel launched State Women Commission Mobile Application to deal with complaints, regarding crime against women, online. Chief Minister inaugurated an awareness and training programme and released a souvenir. During his inaugural speech, CM Baghel stressed on women’s security and called for a need to make women secure economically. The government is implementing new schemes as action plan has been prepared. Chief Minister also took note of various crimes like human trafficking and Cyber crime in the state and said that they should be eradicated.

Besides Hon’ble Chief Minister- Shri Bhupesh Baghel, Women and Child Development Minister- Mrs. Anila Bhediya, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women, Dr Kiranmayi Nayak and chairperson of Chhattisgarh Child Protection Commission Mrs. Tejkunwar Netam were also present on the occasion.

Dr Sanjeev Shukla, Inspector General of Police, Raipur gave Power Point Presentation on steps taken for eradication of human trafficking since 2015-2022. Dr Sunanda Dhenga, forensic expert gave presentation on how to collect evidence from crime scene. Advocate Shamim Rehman informed about how to get relief from family court and sexual exploitation of women at work place. Ms Monali Guha, Cyber crime state trainer gave presentation on how to prevent cyber crime.

Dr Moumita Sinha, Assistant Professor of Forensic Science department, Dr Smita Premanand, NSS Programme Officer and Head of Fashion Design Department, Ms Neelam Ahirwar, Assistant Professor of Forensic Science Department, Mr Sheikh Abdul Kadir, Assistant Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication Department, Ms Suman Chouhan Staff Nurse of Kalinga University along with students of Kalinga University took part in the event.
